Pray, tell me,
What time is it now?
Asked the Sun,
With a mild yawn,
Is it the moment of dawn?

It's 4 o' clock Sir,
Replied the Moon,
Sadly aware,
He had to depart soon.

Aah, am not too late today,
Even though it's Sunday,
The Sun said with eyes shut,
I wish I had slept a bit more, but ...

Last night's party had taken its toll,
Drinks and more drinks, energized his soul,
Drowsiness grasped him soon after,
He would have taken a leave, had he got a work partner.

The Moon heard the Sun's thought,
He could get overtime point, if he managed the plot,
You don't worry Sir, sleep some more,
I will work extra, and guard the door.

The Sun slipped back in its peaceful retreat,
The Moon stood its ground, with determination and grit.

The sky still dark,
Not in sight a flying lark,
The Moon standing before the Sun,
Working his heart out, proud of what he had done,
The Sun was happy, a pact they did fix,
That marked the beginning of the Solar Eclipse.
