Dance

whirling on toes
arms placed on waists
her eyes are calm
swaying sans haste

adorned in white
as pretty as snow flake
she reminds me of swans
and peace in a lake

her nimble feet create
a world that feels divine
the one with music
the one with rhymes

Universe

We are the tiny specks of this universe. Isn't it, then, obvious that we are influenced by the ever changing dynamics of this vast uncharted space?

With You

How do you explain the feeling of love? You can't.

It's simply meant to be lived and cherished. Isn't it?

Evening

It's important to stay happy, to count on what we have achieved today, and open up to a better tomorrow.

Be positive. It matters.

A lot.

Little Birdie

Ever wished for a good company while it rains?

Keep your doors and windows open, you never know who might drop in next.

Wait

It's difficult to wait. But sometimes that's the only thing one can do.

Love and Wait were never meant to be easy.

Ferns

No matter how much we call for equality, the truth remains that there will always be a division in the society. Some will have power and the rest will look up to them.

The world can still live in harmony, only if the ones in power stop considering the others as powerless.

Rainbow

Some poems aren't descriptive. They do not have a caption. They are just meant to feel good, to be positive in tough times, to make you dream of a beautiful world.

Book

Have you ever lost a book that was one of your favourites, only to have found it years later, hidden somewhere but now right there in front of you? Don't tell me that you did not start re-reading it again.

Which book have you lost, and then found, and broke into a happy 1 minute dance?
Which among your collections have you misplaced, and still not found, but wish to get it back?

#throwback

The last vacation I took suddenly feels so distant. All the plans scheduled for this year too are in disarray. Frustrating, isn't it?

I know most of us would share the same feeling, of being caged and locked, not knowing when the world would be free again. But even in these trying times, there is one thing that still resides within us - HOPE. Don't let it go away.

We are blessed to be safe. Count the days, but patiently. These dark times too shall pass. Plans will be made again. Until then, revisit your memories with a smile. Go back to the old photographs of your previous vacations, embrace those moments. The #throwback times will be back again.

Rumours

It's difficult not to believe in rumours, even when they are too obvious.

Ah, the tricks our hearts play in love and faith.

And we fall prey, even though we know we shouldn't.

Insomniac

If you are an insomniac by choice, don't be. If you are an insomniac by habit, change the habit. If you are an insomniac and can't do anything about it, seek help. Get professional guidance. Do something about it.

Sleep is often neglected and ignored. We lead a busy life, where time is a constraint, and peaceful nap a privilege. Don't succumb to the pressure. Sleep is a necessity. It is as important as breathing or eating. Do not shy away from it.

Your health is important. Prioritize it.

Corner

On a day when the light is bright, you might suddenly want to embrace what is dim. You would be silently creeping into a corner, all alone, afraid of the illumination around you. All of a sudden, the dark would feel safe. At the same time, your subconscious will urge you to find your place back into the light.

Give yourself time. Do not hurry. One day, you will create your own lamp, and walk into the light out of your solitude.

January 26

I was introduced to Civics in Middle School, probably in the sixth standard. I remember folding the center page of my History notebook, so that the second half of the exercise copy could be used for Civics.

The significance of Constitution and Republic became more prominent thereafter to me. We were told to memorize the Preamble by heart, and were quizzed about it during exams.

Time has passed but the Republic lives on.

Social

Your social media account is less about you and more about the lives of your contacts. How many times have you felt, scrolling through their profiles, that they are living in a far more adventurous and exciting zone than yours? How many moments have you spent wishing to be in their shoes?

Social media has got you connected to them, but unfortunately, it has also made you feel disconnected with your own self.
