Shortcut

The roaring blue,
The dazzling hue,
The inimitable crowd,
Yeah, I wanna be proud,
Running ahead,
A confident stead,
I try to trace,
The shortcut to success.

Long lost birds,
Flying in herds,
Their beak all yellow,
Come let's follow,
To the world of vision,
Devoid of illusion,
Eyes determined,
Eager to find.

The shortcut to success,
I try to trace,
Ambitions, goals,
Burning our souls,
Thirst and hunger,
No more blunder,
A smile in my heart,
Playing the part.

I walk and walk,
In light and dark,
Awake or asleep,
My thoughts too deep,
The dreams I chase,
I trudge in this race,
I try to trace,
The shortcut to success.

This Poem is written for One Single Impression and the Prompt is Shortcut.

  4. This sounds like life to me. So many hopes and dreams brought to mind when we watch birds in flight, clouds float, and consider our own motion in this short journey on the earth. Life :).
