One Hard Hitting Stage

wrinkles
and a few strands of grey
floating shadow
seeking its way
black eyes lock
in placid turbulence
a struggle it reflects
amid imbecile imbalance

smiles, and fits of rage
stories hidden in whispering cage
tears tell tales of gallows
myths busted, hearts swallowed
truth and deception scurries across the ledge
beware friends, this mirror is one hard hitting stage

  1. Ah.. it can be so hard to face the mirrors... sometimes it's better not to look...

  2. I like the personification of that last line: beware friends, this mirror is one hard hitting stage ~

Perhaps best to stay away from those kinds of mirrors or people ~ Thanks for linking up with Real Toads ~

    Happy weekend ~

  3. I'm thinking of "Mirror, Mirror on the wall." It's so hard having to face reality. Nice post, Amrit. :)

    1. Yes ... mirror can show us either, depending on what we want to see, or what we don't :-)
