The Sun That Sinks

the sun that sinks
in the blue dissolving skies
like sugar in a teapot
or salt, if you prefer
silently bloating bubbles
that blow hot and cold
as the frozen rays pave the way
to the sands of time
oblivion to fate.

  3. Very emotive and evocative. "The sands of time"...inescapable sands they are.

    1. Well it motivates me to write more and more ... at times I feel lost without prompts :-)

I think I've rarely heard or read such a short and perfect description of a sunset.

  18. Love the salt/sugar, fire/ice, also the internal rhyme in this. The pic of the sun is perfect, but you brought out its perfection in verse, and that's really nice.

I love sunsets. Used to be, on the beach in Venice, CA, you could almost hear the sun "bloop" its last on the horizon, but now it's too noisy and gentrified. Wish I could see sunset in a more deserted clime. Thanks for the dream/wish! Amy
