Yesterday, Today

yesterday
when the stars were bright
and the skies blue
those clouds giggled
in purple hue
as we stitched dreams
in figments of love
a few stolen kisses
amidst playful doves

today
I chase those clouds
hoping for a rain
in absence of stars
I fear this pain
showers of memories
that mock at my tears
yesterday was now lost
in kaleidoscope of fear

  1. Oh yes, sometimes we must chase those clouds....in search of rain. The kaleidoscope of fear is kind of a frightening perspective, however.

  3. Giggling clouds, stolen kisses, and absence of stars...there is so much I love about the imagery here- it is like an emotional kaleidoscopic dance, beautiful.

  8. Wonderful Amrit...
Both love and love lost can be felt...
And I am lost at the rhythm and rhymes...

  11. fear will def rob us of time...of days...
and pain the same way...the giggling clouds and such
make it sound like you lost something really good

  16. Liking the cloud gig...I mean "giggling", Amrit.

We used to have a saying, "LIVE AND LET LIVE"
Just now it has come to me a suggestion from your pen,
"LOVE AND LET LOVE" Hmmmm...now WHY did I think that was appropriate??? (sigh)

  17. A beautiful song of words and reminding me too of a past i used to live.. too...

    Ah..the past..ah the future..but AH NOW..the place i live now..and sometimes i read poetry to remember then..

but after leaving poetry and writing it at times too..

    a place for yesterday..

    is left right tHere...

and perhaps that's why we RE-write Life...

    To live in Now..:)

Alive in now and then now here..;)

  18. A kaleidoscope of fear... that's an image I fear my friend. But it feels right in that moment I suppose. Maybe the memories are too close, too powerful to suppress that they come out with the tears too.

  19. I can feel the anxiety ... somehow sweet and somehow bitter ... it's like cooking a meal ... never know whether it'll turn out ... like it did last time ... that's life, I guess ... Love, cat.
