Apology

In the market place today
Apologies are on sale
Some fixed prices
Others variable
Proudly displayed in glass cases
That crack, and un-crack
With the tears of men
And women
Boys girls and animals
That bled in salt
Sometimes, someday

Apologies bought and gifted
Wounds covered with band-aids

But the scar remains!

  4. Very nice, G.S.
It is sooooo true, the scars do remain.
Some still hurt, others we have learned.

  6. Yes, well said: no matter how hard an apology, it's powers are limited.

  7. I heard somewhere... I can forgive, but I can't trust you again because of the scar you gave me. This poem reminded me of that.

  12. I love this a lot. If we would just think before we act or speak, perhaps we wouldn't need the apologies or wound to leave scars.

  21. Ah, does supply exceed demand? Are they cheap or dear? Very well done.

  22. Apologies are very valuable because when genuine they come from the heart and mean every word they say. They can be a balm to heal wounds. Beware of imitations that speak words and looks that reveal insincerity hidden in trite phrases and downward glances.
