The Sick Lady

And on the chair she lies
The pillow providing solace
To her aching memories
Of days gone by
The companionship
Love and joy
And now, this feverish loneliness
The beauty of the moonlight-ness
Invading her sickening vein
As the Doctor inspects her pain
A pill or two he prescribes
A bottle of syrup as well
But who would go out
But who would bring her
But who would care
The pharmacy mocks, she's helpless
Viruses flowing all over her vessels, endless.

  5. Poignant but written too well. Sometime problem is not the body but the heart- loneliness is the biggest disease of all!

Your opening is classic. It's the bane of old age when one is most vulnerable but helpless. Nicely Green!

  7. A sad but true tale - who is there for her and the many confined to lonliness?

    Well done.
