Silence

Silence - a rare gift
Blessings of the sacred heart
Eyes speak out the words.

Fingers on your lips
Teacher shouts at the children
Now pin drop silence.

The kiss of passion
In the Garden of Eden
Lord smiles silently.

Silence of the Lambs
Hopkins - Foster masterpiece
The perfect thriller.

Silence rules my heart
As I wade through roads of thorns
You light up my world.

  10. Strong words Green Speck..people often confuse silence with loneliness..when you know you are not truly alone maybe that's when silence is truly golden..jae

  11. Silence is a subject very close to my heart. So, I can relate to this poem which you have penned so eloquently. It is the greatest quality one can have, not only silence by not speaking but silence of thoughts too by calming down our mind-we come to that stage through meditation.
And "Silence of the lambs" is one of my all time favourite movies , I loved Jodie Foster in it and I loved the book too ! Anthony Hopkins was too good!

    1. Silence is precious to all of us. It's a unique phase where we can look back at our lives and also plan for the future. Silence calms the mind and the soul. I take silence as a meditative stance :-)

And yes, Silence Of The Lambs is my favorite too :-)

  17. It's interesting how you took this from beauty to scandal to dark and back to light. Perhaps a reflection of real relationships. They travel many unsuspected paths.

  21. I'm liking your 'Silence' poem, G.S. I never thought of Adam and Eve kissing in the Garden of Eden. Surely they must.

When I think of the word Silence I think of a ready made song of the 60-70's, "Silence is Golden":
Oh, don't it hurt deep inside
"To see someone do something' to her?
Oh, don't it pain to see someone cry?
Oh especially when someone is her

    Silence is golden
    But my eyes' still see
    Silence is golden, golden
    But my eyes still see
    ":
