A fellow would frequently quote
His adventures in the big yellow boat.
And then came the truth
The story of his youth;
Being sea sick he never set afloat.
This Limerick is shared with Limerick-Off Monday.
What a twist! I really enjoy your poetry!

DeleteDark Angel
DeleteI lived in houseboat (32-ft. shanty with an engine) for several years on the Ohio River. And the floods came and went. I know what you mean about "...love waters, floods too."
But I never suffered the utter destruction, devastation of EVERYTHING, like some. I'm certain you did not mean loving THAT attribute of a flood.
PEACE, girl!
Steve
Nice write, GS. I like your yellow boat too.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to make up stories (so they say)
but when one is caught that will be the end
of everything for a while.
..
Yup ... so it's always good to be prepared ;-)

ReplyDeleteI'm glad :-)
DeleteLIKE your limerick, Green Speck. Never got seasick, I LIVED for the hours spent swinging and swaying with every passing tug-pushed set of barges.
ReplyDeleteOnly boats for me from now on are similar to your little Yellow Boat. (Now...I RIDE!!!)
PEACE!
I would love to hear your sea stories ... do write about it :-)
