Somewhere down the isle
I will play you a song
champagne and guitar
nay, it would never be so wrong
'cause the world will sing
a hymn so deep
across the oceans
I will gift you the ring
plotted with my love
a kiss and a hug
the map will obey
to our dreams it will sway
somewhere down the isle.

Somewhere down the "isle"...wonderful play on words. Your writing never ceases to amaze.

DeleteThe words just flow like wine! Good one!
ReplyDeleteThank You Shaivi :-)
DeleteI like how you repeated the first line as the last; it enhances the poem and brings it full circle. Good meter and rhyme. Nicely done.

DeleteI agree with Tess ... isle and aisle have different meanings, here they mesh beautifully.

DeleteA lovely poem, Amrit. It could easily be the words to a song. I love isle, and aisle, too!
