Simon Simon
clean your socks
clean your socks
socks socks socks
they stink, they smell
oh my poor nose, look how it swells
Simon Simon
where are you?
are you there?
where did you disappear?
answer me o Simon
where are you?
are you there?
Simon Simon
clean your socks
nay nay, not, I won't
don't shirk, don't smirk
Simon Simon
clean your socks
Simon Simon
don't run away
come back
come back
pass me the bucket
the soap
and the socks
this time
just this last time
Simon Simon

Love this one Amrit! One of my favorites of yours.
ReplyDeleteThanks Keith :-)
DeleteAmrit, I love it, you're very playful with words, the poem sounds like a little game with child.
ReplyDeleteThank You humbird :-)
DeleteWhile reading this, I kept thinking about Simple Simon and that he really must have had a lot of dirty socks. Maybe from chasing all of us kids and telling us what to do and what not to do. We used to have a lot of fun with him when we were in school and even at home with our younger brothers and sisters. And you have written such a fun poem about socks and Simon to bring back such fun memories. I almost feel as if it is Simon's big brother talking and then taking over the task because Simon needs his help. Family is so much fun. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this with us for this weeks Theme Thursday. It was a lot of fun and enjoyable. I hope you have a great weekend and that it has cooled down a bit there, we are still in an oven. Have fun with the family.
God bless.
