Flow

"flow"
they said
"move on with time"
and yet I couldn't
as tears bloated the sleeves
of my crease-less shirt

flow I did
with the gulls that hovered
across those lakes
where we plundered the waves once
remember, darling?

flow I did
to the mesmerizing rhythm
of rain drops brushing
tickling our love
we hid beneath the clouds
in silent ecstasy

flow I did
holding the shells that carried
the sound of the seas
beyond which we dreamt
a life, now forgotten

but do you remember, sweetheart?

I fail to flow today
the burden weighs heavily
on my frail shoulders
I sink deep
into the abyss
of twinkling nothingness

  3. I feel good once I see the sad feelings poured unabashedly..because that is what is being human...yet, my last stanza would be:

    And that's when
    I find getting lifted up
    By an unseen spirit
    My strong shoulders
    Carry my dreams
    I look up and sunbeam
    hits my face and says
    "Hello"..

  4. Solid writing; I especially liked your closing image of 'twinkling nothingness', which--in my opinion--pretty much describes all things, all the time. Well done.

  10. I really like the repetition of "flow I did". So loving and heartbreaking. I like emotional. Loved this.
