Cactus In My Tea Cup

every breath I count
is a hill I surmount
famished in thirst
and kissing the drought
my lips are wrinkled
and parched and dry
they smell of ember
and crack and weep shy
but a drop of water
or a drizzle would do
my throat burns red
I feel pain anew
the rooster breaks the dawn
yet the sun doesn't rise
the cactus in my tea cup
bids a gentle goodbye

  2. Gosh! Hope this is not true in the future...
May we all have enough water.

  9. Oh a dream
    a faucet
    a cup
    that
    never
    runneth
    less than
    full as pumping
    waters love to homes
of life.. oh what we take
    for granted in what our
    ancestors and some
    still do suffer
    for just
    a drop
    of what
    we have..:)
