A Lonesome Bat

a lonesome bat
hanging from the branches
he knows no friend

he knows no friend
as he flies through the caves
night after night

night after night
he watches the moon
designing the skies

designing the skies
the moon plays with him
hide and seek

hide and seek
one night, the moon was lost
in the maze of clouds

in the maze of clouds
the bat traveled here and there
but in vain

but in vain
hanging from the branches
a lonesome bat

This Haiku is shared with Haiku Heights - Bat.

  1. Loved the cascading haiku. You started with the lonesome bat and ended with the same.
