Weeds In My Head

I would rather plant weeds in my head
in my heart
in my breath

in songs of the dead
in solitary hours of wait
until I find a reason
to uproot
and let go

when it's gloomy
and dark
I shall rest in the weeds
and find my support

The Apple

had he not eaten the apple
the mirror would have held true
he could have raced to work
after wearing his black shoe

but no, he did eat the apple
a mistake he confessed as his
the serpent couldn't be blamed
this time, it was a fish

who swam up to the shore
gifted him the fruit
go, open your bag of sins, it said
goodness is there to loot

lured by power
a greed so rich
he stuck to the apple
like a blood thirsty leech

how he wished he hadn't eaten the apple
how he wished the mirror could be true
only if he had not strayed his path
he would have fitted aptly in his shoe

Temple Bell

the poor kid waited
outside the temple, hungry
for evening bell

evening bell rings
the poor kid in front of queue
eating prasada

My Airtel App

What are apps for? To make our lives smoother, easier and a lot more relaxing. Well, we do have a number of apps in the market that can be downloaded as per our needs, but don’t we all need that one app that we can really regard as our own, something that will serve us in multiple areas as per our needs, benefiting us in ways more than one.

‘My Airtel App’ serves the purpose. Its multiple features can make your day, providing you with options galore that turns your day to day activities into pleasant tasks. There are no rooms for complaints, as the app takes care of a lot of stuffs which otherwise prove to be a headache. As I explored the app, I came across several salient features that proved to be of immense help. Listed below are the three features that really earn this app brownie points, taking it ahead of the race when compared with other apps that promise similar service.

Online payments are in trend. We pay most of our bills through net banking or credit/debit card, using the online portals to fulfil the task. However, are we not worried about the safety of these transactions? ‘My Airtel App’ reduces our concern in this regard. Its brilliantly designed interface to pay online bills is both secure and quick, a perfect combination one would say, and makes payment of bills a lot easier. What is more, I can even store the details of my card for future transactions, leading to less time consumption. Recharging one’s phones or paying bills have never been easier before.

We tend to follow a fixed routine while performing some tasks, like say, we would want to buy a data pack on a particular day every month. However, unfortunately, due to our hectic schedules we miss the date, leading to numerous inconsistencies. ‘My Airtel App’ provides the flexibility to store all our tasks under its ‘I Want To’ option, so that one wouldn’t miss any item as per his planned timings. It’s easy, interactive and gives one the ease to engage in other activities without worrying about duty dates.

We love freebies, don’t we? What if every recharge we did earned us free coupons that could be further redeemed. Wishes are turned to reality with ‘My Airtel App’.  Whenever you do a recharge, you will be rewarded with gift coupons that you can use at multiple stores like PVR Cinemas, Café Coffee Day, Flipkart.com, Amazon.in, Ebay.in, Myntra.com, Archies, VLCC and a lot more. Thus, by spending, one is also earning, which serves as a bonus.

‘My Airtel App’ is a must for every smartphone user. Not only does it make your life easier, it also makes it a lot smarter.

Upside Down

a world turned upside down
and we would never fall
but rise into the skies
kissing the horizon
amidst the stars

where success will be just
and failure not too harsh
justice shall be served
and lies run scarce

A Dream, A Nightmare

a dream so hauntingly pretty
that he woke up to nightmares
not knowing what they meant
not knowing what they showed
but a smile would linger
on every favoured dawn

disobeying thoughts
he lived on impulse
where every single moment
was a dream carved in snow
frozen one day
lost, the next

Ek Nayi League

While we are inclined to follow our heart most of the time, we also have to pay attention to what our mind has to say. There are times when we find ourselves on such a crossroad where we have to choose between the heart and the mind. What we choose decide our journey, and the road that we need to walk to reach our goals.

When you speak of sporting legends, Kapil Dev stands high in the list. One of the most innovative cricketers ever, he was as destructive with the bat as with the ball. The desire to master something new has been his forte, a fact which gets highlighted again as he is all set to launch his venture #EkNayiLeague.

Now, I have no clue what #EkNayiLeague is all about, but guessing by the promotional campaigns, it seems to be a venture where the mind should rule over the heart in order to get positive results. Thus, one should decide wisely and take the correct decisions after analyzing every pro and con. Which field will this be focusing upon? If I am allowed to take a wild guess, I would say ‘Insurance.’

We never know what is going to happen tomorrow. In fact, why go all the way to tomorrow when we are clueless about the events that might unfold the very next moment? Thus, being insured is a primary responsibility of every citizen, not just for his own sake but also for his family. When one opts for the right kind of insurance, he or she plays a safe bet, knowing that he or she has secured his or her tomorrow, come what may. Perhaps #EkNayiLeague is an initiative that offers lucrative Insurance options that any sane person should opt for. Your heart may tell you that all is well and you do not need insurance, but think with your mind to excel in the innings of your life.

#EkNayiLeague seems to be an initiative to act wisely today to have a better tomorrow. Insurance is something that everybody needs, right from the celebrities to the common man. Since the term League is used here, I guess that there will be many plans that will be customized to meet the insurance needs of the individual. We all have our own needs, and thus having a league of several options would make it all the more feasible and generate appeal among the masses.

Kapil Dev is an icon, and thus anything he promotes will be worthy of attention. #EkNayiLeague too would surely turn out to be a success. I am eagerly looking forward to what it actually is. I am not sure if my guess of #EkNayiLeague being a conglomeration of Insurance plans is correct or not, but whatever it is, I would love to know more about it and be a part of this venture.
